A Victorian post office already had that name, so the new Postal Receiving Office took a name used nowhere else in the Commonwealth, made official on 24 May 1908. The original general store dates from 1910 to 1912, and ferries still run on the Woy Woy to Empire Bay route via Saratoga and Davistown.
